Back to the regular program.
One quick note relating to last night's post, then I'll get back to the scheduled programming ;-)
I am so glad that the anti-protesters that showed up overshadowed the hate rally that was taking place in Boston. From what I hear, it was a peaceful protest. Of course there will always be bad eggs even on the side fighting for equality, but the fact that there were thousands upon thousands of people who virtually mobbed the streets of Boston fighting for the rights of our brothers and sisters is comforting. There just might be hope if we can keep this momentum up. I have my sign ready to go for tomorrow. I am going to leave it in Times Square before leaving to go back home.
Ok, back to the regular blog content. I just ate a regular vanilla yogurt because I am on a train and didn't think to bring anything else. For lunch I had an omelette and didn't not order the toast. So I had probably the equivalent of a piece and a half of whole wheat toast. I also added a little extra granola to my yogurt this morning. These are the slips I was (and am) afraid of, and I am still not 100% fixing them. I need to work harder on that. The more I blur the lines of what is 'allowed', the farther down the rabbit hole I will go.
I went to an Acupuncturist this morning before getting on the train. It definitely hurt in some places, like the base of my skull and my SI joints going in. I have been having some edema (swelling) in my ankle that I sprained almost a year ago. It pools in the back of where my fibula is visible. It doesn't hurt anymore, but is constant. I have shown my general practitioner doctor and she didn't seem concerned. She just told me to strengthen it, but alas, it didn't work. I have consulted my chiropractor as well, and he adjusts it but the swelling stays. Within a few minutes of the needles coming out of my ankle, I saw a distinct difference. There is still swelling but you can actually see the posterior side of my fibula now. Nothing else seems to really have been affected, but I have been told to give it time.
I have tried contacting the dietician in town, but still haven't heard back. I am going to try to call again on Monday because I think the more variety I can get in my diet, the better I will be to stay on track.
I went to Whole Foods the other night to get the ingredients for the rolls. I also bought these caramel chocolate things. (It's organic, that was my reasoning). The first thing in the morning, I got up and had a couple. Then when I got home I kept grabbing more. I threw them out. But they were still in the package. I got them out of the trash and ate more. (Fellow fat girls know just how far the addiction has progressed when you're literally going through your trash to satisfy cravings.) I dumped them fully into the trash. But some were clean so I had one more like 10 minutes later. One had the residue of the cat's canned food on it. ABORT. I REPEAT, ABORT...I haven't had any since.
Oh jeez. Someone is having a huge cookie across from me. Apparently my cravings are still very much a thing.
The good news is that the show I am seeing doesn't start until 7PM and the place I'm staying tonight is where I stayed last time I was here. I know where I can eat and what is safe to enjoy. I cannot get snacks tonight at the show. Last time, I picked out the chocolate from the trail mix. But there is this amazing organic Mexican takeout place right near my hotel and they have some REALLY good dinners. I'm excited for that. I need to write down what I have eaten so far today, for my own good.
